The Oji Group recognizes that the reduction of the environmental burden is an important task for realizing a sustainable society.
Under the Oji Group Environment Action Program 2015, we have set Limitless Challenge to Zero-Environmental Burden as a policy, aiming for zero-environmental burden in each and every operational procedure by raising environmental awareness further and integrating our technological, operational, and planning capabilities. Specifically, we promote measures for preventing pollution by striving to control the emission of chemical compounds in exhaust gas and pollutants in wastewater, save resources, and reduce and make effective use of waste.
- Improving the emission intensity (kg of emissions/million yen) of water pollutants in wastewater in FY2017 from the FY2016 levels indicated below.
BOD emission intensity: 5.91, COD emission intensity: 24.11, Suspended solid emission intensity: 10.17
- Improving the emission intensity of SOx in exhaust gas in FY2017 from the FY2016 level, which is 4.84 kg of emissions/million yen
- Achieving an effective utilization ratio of waste in Japan of 99% or higher in FY2020
(Ratio of landfill disposal volume to waste generation volume of 1% or lower)
Overseas: 95% or higher (ratio of landfill disposal volume to waste generation volume of 5% or lower)
- Maintaining the volatile organic compounds (VOC) emission intensity at the 2010 level (0.56kg/million yen)
