The Oji Group operates the Business Ethics Helpline to
provide all officers and employees (including part-time and
short-term employees) the opportunity to consult and make
reports with the aim of prevention or remediation through early
discovery of violations of laws and regulations and improper
conduct (including labor relations and sexual and power
harassment related issues). Whistleblowing desks are established both internally (in the Oji Holdings Corporate Compliance Department) and externally (a law firm) to ensure the early discovery and correction of human
rights abuses such as harassment and discrimination, corrupt
practices including bribery, and other misconduct.
For whistleblowers, we keep information about them strictly confidential and prohibit disadvantageous treatment of them, such as retaliation, by reason of whistleblowing. We also accept anonymous whistleblowing. The system is described in the booklet of the Oji Group Corporate Code of Conduct and the Oji Group Behavior Standard, which is distributed to all employees, as well as on the intranet. In addition, it is also informed via the monthly Compliance News.
We accept whistleblowing from external parties via the Compliance Section under the Inquiry about Corporate Information of our official website. The Corporate Compliance Department handles individual cases of compliance violations by officers and employees of the Oji Group. Same as for employees, we accept anonymous whistleblowing also for external parties and keep information strictly confidential. We appointed compliance staff in the compliance window who have acquired the knowledge and skills required for counseling. Compliance staff participate in external training sessions, workshops, and regular learning sessions between consultants to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills.
