Projects for Communicating
the Value of Our Forests

01 Oji Forest Tour

Communicating the importance of forests through experiences

Forests have the effect of soothing the mind and relaxing the tension, which are produced through recreational activities such as forest bathing and hiking. This is called the recreation function. Further, experience and activities in forests have various possible effects, including effects on environmental education and regional revitalization. In this section, we introduce initiatives that we created by establishing relationships between forests and people.

Oji Forest Tour

In 2024, we began to hold Oji Forest Tours as a joint project with Club Tourism (hereafter, "CTI"). In Oji Forests that are usually not open to the public, tour participants learn about forest development and the various functions of forests that are explained by employees. They also observe a wide variety of trees, wild animal trails, and other aspects of forests.

The tours have been conducted in Shizuoka (Fuji-shi), Yamanashi (Fuefuki-shi), and Tochigi (Nikko-shi), and a cumulative total of approx. 640 people have taken these tours. We continue to plan to hold them in the future.
