The Oji Group provides liquid sweeteners including isomerized liquid sugars and high-fructose syrup by harnessing their respective properties. In addition, based on our production technologies cultivated through the manufacturing of liquid sweeteners, we were the first in the world to extract phosphorylated oligosaccharide, a food material, from potatoes produced in Hokkaido and succeeded in developing a method for mass-producing it.
Isomerized sugar
There are three types of isomerized sugar, which differ in terms of their mixing ratio of glucose and fructose, which are hydrolyzed starch products.
(1) Glucose-fructose syrup (fructose ratio of 42% or more)
(2) Fructose-glucose syrup (fructose ratio of 55%)
(3) High-fructose syrup (fructose ratio of 95% or more)
Isomerized sugar features a clean taste with no aftertaste. The higher the fructose content, the cleaner its taste becomes. In addition, because its perceived sweetness increases at low temperature, isomerized sugar is used widely in various beverages, frozen desserts and the similar applications.
While sugar is a powder, isomerized sugar is a liquid, which means it is easier to handle at manufacturing sites.

Phosphorylated oligosaccharide
Phosphorylated oligosaccharide is a natural food material derived from potato starch produced in Hokkaido.
Using our proprietary production technologies, the Oji Group were the first in the world to succeed in mass-producing it as a new functional oligosaccharide.
This phosphorylated oligosaccharide increases the water solubility of calcium, whose solubility is low.
